- The Group is present in five countries in Europe and Latin America and has 200,0000 parking spaces in 400 car parks
The company maintains growth as a priority objective with new operations in all the countries where it is present, reinforcing its position as a leading operator. As a result, Saba has recently acquired a new car park in Zaragoza, located in Plaza de los Sitios. The site, covering 3,000 m2, has three underground floors and a capacity of 240 parking spaces, of which Saba will manage 200, intended for short-stays and subscribers, while the remaining parking spaces are owned. Saba has spent 10 million euros on this operation.
This operation carried out in Spain is in addition to Saba’s acquisition of 65% of Las Mercedes, a company of which until now Saba was a shareholder in equal parts with Sarkis and Kutxa. Las Mercedes has the administrative concession for the Las Arenas and Romo car parks in the town of Getxo (Vizcaya), with a total of 219 parking spaces, which expires in 2054. It is a natural step towards growing in the acquisition of car parks with a good location in the Basque Country, with clear operational synergies with Saba’s car parks in Castro Urdiales (Santander) and Bilbao’s railway station (Adif network).
In Italy, Saba has opened the Verona Arsenale car park, which has a total of 209 short-stay parking spaces distributed over three floors. Saba will manage the car park under concession for a period of 56 years and has invested a total of 4 million euros in the project, with a special focus on adapting the infrastructure to the surroundings, as well as introducing energy saving measures and connection to Saba’s Customer Service and Control Centre (CCC). This car park is an addition to Saba’s current offer in the city of Verona, which includes the Arena, Isolo, Borgo Trento and Polo Zanotto car parks. In total, the company manages more than 2,000 parking spaces in this city.
In Portugal, Saba has finalized two new operations in Gaia (Porto) Porto and Lisbon. Firstly, it has signed a lease for an underground car park in Gaia with 229 parking spaces for a period of 25 years. This car park is also connected to the CCC. Currently, a total of 136 car parks in Spain, Italy and Portugal are connected to the CCC, 19% more than in the previous year. The car park is located in an area with enormous growth potential due to tourism. The shore of the Gaia river is an area of recreation (restaurants and bars), wineries and the cruise terminal of the Douro River. In Lisbon, Saba has been awarded a 5-year lease to exploit the Nos Campo Grande car park.
Finally, Saba has been awarded the management of three car parks belonging to the multinational Cencosud, which represents 12,300 new parking spaces, therefore doubling its previous volume. The company now manages 30,000 spaces and is now established as the leading operator in Chile. The three centres are Costanera Center, a complex covering 70,000 m2 with more than 300 stores, Alto las Condes and Portal la Dehesa, all located in the capital of the country, Santiago de Chile. Entry into the management of large shopping centre car parks represents progress in the company's desire to continue growing in the country while expanding activity in all areas of the business.
