Saba concludes a deal to purchase the Portuguese concessionaire CPE and double its car park network in the country
  • In the last 4 years, the company has incorporated more than 105,000 parking spaces and 195 car parks thanks to new contracts

Saba has closed with the Portuguese group SdC – Concessões, SGPS, SA (Sdc), owner of CPE, the acquisition of 100% of the car park concessionaire. CPE is the fourth-largest private car park operator in Portugal, with a portfolio of 13 car parks and 2 controlled areas, in 9 towns, among them Lisbon and Oporto, accounting for a total of 8,100 parking spaces and an average concession length of about 30 years. Following the purchase agreement reached last June, the transaction was concluded today after all the conditions precedent were met, among them those involving the competitive authorities and administrative authorisations.

The President of Saba, Salvador Alemany, reiterated that “the company is prepared to face a new stage of growth, following the consolidation of the Aena and Adif car parks, including Bamsa’s incorporation to the company’s car park network”. In line with the President, Saba’s Chief Executive Officer, Josep Martínez Vila, highlighted the acquisition of CPE “is a further demonstration of the company’s ability to incorporate the new car parks to Saba’s management structure and philosophy. All this, based on the quality of service, technological innovation, new products development and top class infrastructures, with the aim of providing a differentiated offer, a competitive benchmark to our clients”.
