Saba's CEO took part in the 4th ANFAC Forum held in Madrid, the benchmark event for the automotive and mobility sector in Spain

The automotive industry met at the ANFAC Forum 'Together towards the future', organised by the Spanish Association of Car and Truck Manufacturers. Saba's CEO, Josep Martínez Vila, participated in the round table on the "New Mobility Revolution: Challenges and Opportunities" together with María Jesús Almazor, COO of Telefónica Tech for Spain and America; Marta Blázquez, President of Faconauto; Xavier Oms, Director of Mobility and Equipment at CaixaBank Payments & Consumer; and Alfonso Sesé, President of Sesé.

Josep Martínez Vila pointed out the necessary transformation of infrastructures to contribute to progress towards decarbonization: "The penetration of electric vehicles will be limited if the problem of power in the charging infrastructure is not solved, especially in underground car parks, which are hubs for sustainable mobility services for people and goods".

During the conference, the challenges and opportunities for collaboration between the public and private sectors in the field of mobility were highlighted, issues that need to be explored and brought to life if the best sustainable and social solutions for cities are to be articulated.

To quote Josep Martínez Vila, "Saba does not understand its future without extending electric charging in car parks, in which we have been pioneers since 2018, having now one of the most extensive networks in the sector, with more than 600 electrified parking spaces". At this point, he added that it is essential not only to provide aid to the automotive sector, but also to support the deployment of electric charging infrastructure.

The CEO highlighted that the penetration of electric vehicles will be limited unless the problem of power in underground car parks, as part of the management of sustainable urban mobility, is solved.

In short, car parks are part of the solution and not part of the problem in terms of improving the efficiency of sustainable urban mobility, helping to reduce congestion and emissions, and gaining public road space for citizens.
